Sioux Lookout’s pride and joy, the Blueberry Festival, is celebrating its 28th anniversary this summer but, like that little berry, it started small and grew over time. Today, thousands of people from Northwestern Ontario and the rest of Canada, along with visitors from the United States and overseas descend upon Sioux Lookout to take in the festival, which regularly boasts over one hundred events. Organizers of the first festival in 1983 envisioned it as a celebration of community, a time to show off all that Sioux Lookout has to offer, share each others’ interests and have a fun time that everyone could participate in. They wanted to put the town on the map and let everyone know just how great a community Sioux Lookout is. Summer’s a special time of year when blue reigns supreme in Sioux Lookout and fun is never far away. There’s truly something for everyone at the Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival.
We invite you to join in on the fun! |
